EDWATEC’s Erbium-Doped Waveguide Amplifiers (EDWAs) provide low-noise fully optical amplification directly within photonic integrated circuits. Built on a silicon nitride platform and compatible with standard silicon photonics ecosystems, EDWAs enable compact, power-efficient amplification without the size and integration limitations of conventional EDFAs.
Up to 30 dB net optical gain, Supports 1480nm and 980nm pump, C-band operation, extendable to L-band. No active temperature control required. Silicon Photonics Foundry Compatible.
Applications: Optical communication systems, DWDM and coherent transmission, Data-center interconnects, Optical loss compensation in PICs, LiDAR and optical sensing, Fiber sensing systems, Satellite communication systems,Test and measurement systems.
